Fixing My Digital Life

My digital life was a mess. There’s literally no excuse for my digital life being such as mess. From my too-lazy-to-post blog to my empty-bitbucket-public-repo-fear; I’m a Web Developer for Jedi’s sake. I should have a dope online portfolio of dope projects and stuff I’m doing on the side. But I don’t Now.

Things Are Changing

It took me two weeks of nights and weekends but I’ve but up a new blog design where I show the professional and personal side of Bryan Siegel. I have envisioned this type of website for years. While there’s still a ton of that I would like to do and probably fix. I’m proud of what I’ve been able to slop together.

Why The Change?

Honestly, because of my professional future. I know that many professional developers are like yeah duh, my road to web development wasn’t a direct one. Yeah I built a website when I was 16 and yeah I’ve always known that I wanted to do Tech for the rest of my life. Once I started to do it professionally I had a family at the same exact time. I know plenty of developers that had families and their online portfolio looks way better than mine and I’m not trying to make excuses but raising 3 kids while living paycheck to paycheck is really hard to do. That was the past but the now I’m doing well enough to focus on my professional presence online.

What’s Next?

Now that the website is in good shape I’m going to focus on my public repositories. I use Bitbucket and like it more than Github. But I want to put the good projects up there. I have a tendency to learn something new, build something small to get the idea of it, never use that technology that I used and forget how to use it later on. Now I’m going to focus on creating projects I’ve always wanted to build on the side and showcase.
