Well I am officially laid off. Since we are at the peak of the Corona virus epidemic I’ve decided to wait a couple of more weeks until I start looking for another job. To keep my mind off the situation I’ve decided to dig deeper into Django by learning Python. There are a ton of IDE’s for developing Python on the desktop, there are only a few for the iPad.
Why Do Python on the IPad don’t you have a laptop?
The reason is convenience. When I’m sitting on the couch I’d like to bust out a couple of methods or run through a tutorial or two. Right now I’m visiting with the in-laws in Oregon until the epidemic dies down and they watch a ton of TV (luckily they have the same taste in shows) .
All iPad IDE’s Cost Money Or Didn’t Work
I used at least 20 different Python apps and they all sucked. Since I just got laid off I couldn’t justify the money to purchase one so I went to the web and found a great free alternative.
Online Learning Resources
While I’m still in the early stages of learning I decided to give Lynda’s Python Essentials a try and I’m loving it so far. I tend to learn better with video so for right now I’ve decided to stick with Lynda for the moment.
