Site Search
I designed and developed a custom site search application to improve content discovery across the legacy Clark County School District website. The project was created to replace a costly third-party enterprise search solution used on the previous ccsd.net platform, significantly reducing operational expenses while maintaining a fast and reliable search experience for users.
The application was built using PHP for server-side processing with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS powering the front-end interface. It indexes and retrieves website content dynamically, allowing users to quickly locate pages, resources, and documents across a very large school district website. The search interface was optimized for usability, speed, and relevance to ensure visitors could easily find information across hundreds of departments and thousands of pages.
The system was engineered to support high traffic and large-scale indexing demands from one of the largest school district websites in the United States. By implementing a custom-built solution, the project eliminated the need for an expensive external search service while providing greater control over indexing, ranking, and performance optimization.
